Year 6 Residential – Day 3 & 4

We have had 2 more fantastic days thanks to Adventure Access but this time we were at the Marina in Seaham. A perfect site right on our doorstep. The weather was ideal for 2 days at the beach and we were all glad to be able to go into the sea to cool down.  We would all like to give Libby and all of the Adventure Access staff a big thank you for making our week amazing!

Kayaking and Paddle boarding

For some of us it was a brand new experience, for some of us it was a chance to demonstrate our skills.  The first day on the water we got use to kayaking and paddle boarding. It is harder than it looks to stay standing up on the board. The second day we were more confident and played lots of games with the instructors in the water – must of which involved us jumping into the sea.

We also tried our hand at surfing on the waves and swimming in the open water. It was great fun!

Not the greatest pictures but the memories of doing that together will last a lifetime

Beach School Activities

We have had 2 great sessions with Hannah from Playology taking part in her beach school. Over the two days we have meditated, skimmed stones, looked for sea glass, created some beach art, created river runs and did a boulder dash across the rocks. Both these sessions were finished perfectly by roasting marshmallows on an open fire.

Fun on the beach

At the end of our first day at the Marina we enjoyed an ice cream and time to play on the beach. We all loved spending time with our friends and making memories together in our last term at St.Cuthbert’s.
