Year 6 Cookery

We have been learning about food in DT this term. We’ve thought about Britain’s favourite takeaway meals and learned about using food labels to help us find out about storage, allergens and the contents of our food. We learned that it is really easy to make a seasonal and healthy curry ourselves without the additives you get in jars of food. Today we have worked in pairs to make our own curries using peeling and cutting skills as well as learning how to prepare food using the hob safely. We hope our families have enjoyed sharing them with us!

Next week, Sikhs, Hindus and Jains in India and around the world will celebrate Diwali so tomorrow we are going to bake some cardamom spiced biscuits similar to Nankhatai which are a traditional Diwali treat.
