As part of our Installation Art topic, Y4 had a go at yarn bombing today. Yarn bombing is a form of street art where people decorate objects in public places using yarn or fabric. The idea is that it can brighten up our surroundings.
Firstly, we went outside to sketch places and objects we thought we could decorate with yarn. We then had a go at some decoration techniques such as finger knitting and pom pom making. It was very difficult and fiddly but we kept on trying and produced some lovely decorations.
Then, we went outside and decorated some of the objects on the school yard like the trees, the netball posts, benches and sticks. It looked amazing when we were done!
