Tuesday 5th May

Hello Year 6.

Today we should feel more informed about V.E day.

I would like you to complete the attached reading comprehension which will give you more information about V.E Day or remind you of facts you learnt yesterday.

For Maths I would like you to complete the WW2 themed multiplication word problem I have attached. I have labelled them bronze, silver and gold. You choose the calculations you prefer but remember to challenge yourself.

During the War people communicated in code to avoid being detected by axis groups. I have attached a powerpoint about Alan Turing a key figure at the time. Read the powerpoint and create an information poster about him and his work.

Then try your hand at code breaking. I have attached some morse code activities, a different way of communicating without words to avoid being detected.

See how you get on. Can you come up with your own code using letters, numbers or symbols?
