Tuesday 28th April

Hi everyone – a few jobs for you today.

English – please do another reading plus or Lexia activity for half an hour. On the BBC website today they will be revising apostrophes. The link isn’t on yet but I have added a link to the Y5 page and I will edit it as soon as the page goes live. Please also watch Adam Bushnell on at 2:30 on YouTube this afternoon. He is doing a special reading of a Just So Story just for us to give us some inspiration for our own writing.

Maths – please do lesson 2 on White Rose. This time is it subtracting decimals. Remember, if you’re finding it a challenge then just try the first 3 or 4 questions.

Girls are winning on Rockstars so far!

Finally, our new history project is going to be to find out what was going on in the world while the Vikings and Anglo Saxons were living in Britain. Firstly, I’ve sent you a KAHOOT to practise the continents of the world. The PIN is 06009550

Secondly, I have sent you a video of how civilisations developed across the world. In this video, civilisation means people living in fairly large societies with rules. Look how they begin in Asia and Africa before spreading to Europe. Talk to a grown up about the Americas. Why might civilisations not have spread there so quickly? What was the first civilisation in the Americas? You can write down some ideas if you wish or start to find out about the Americas.
