Trendy Thursday

I hope you enjoyed using your number brain lots yesterday. I was very impressed with how big your number brains are growing. Today I received a letter in a bottle. It was very strange, the letter was from Pirate Pete. He wants to know if you can help him on his ship. Think about all of the things you are good at and how these skills will help Pete.

You need to design some flags today to go onto your pirate ship. One of your challenges is to design one that has the same pattern on both sides.

As a pirate you have made a telescope, a map, a ship and a flag. Pirates like to wear hats so there is a hat design for your grown- ups to help you with or you could design and make your own hat. I look forward to seeing all of your trendy hats!

Have fun xxx

Phonics – Pirate’s Adventure | Alphablocks | Learn to Read | Wizz Learning

You can follow the Alphablocks on a pirate adventure where they use both the letter names and letter sounds.

Literacy A letter has arrived from Captain Pete it arrived in a bottle. Pirates can’t post their letters in a post box in the middle of the sea! Ask a grown up to read the letter to you. Can you help Captain Pete? What job do you think you could do on his pirate ship? You can use the sheet if you want to.
Maths Go to Whiterose maths Summer Term Week 2 Day 4 – You have made a ship and a map but you need a flag for your ship. A challenge might be to make a flag that has the same pattern on both sides. It is symmetrical – I’ve given you a challenge linked to your doubles. If you put 3 spots of paint on one side of your paper and fold it over how many spots will you have altogether?
Other areas of learning You have a telescope, ship, flag, map and treasure but you don’t have a hat. You might have to ask a grown up to help you to fold the paper to make you a pirate hat or you might want to design your own.
