Some children in Y5 and Y6 enjoyed their first experience of fencing yesterday. We had a lovely day in school yesterday celebrating World Book Day. We came dressed as a word this year and it was lovely to see everyone in their fabulous and well thought out costumes. We took part in lots of different reading activities throughout the day and all enjoyed turning a wooden spoon into a book character.  

Yesterday was Ash Wednesday and we had a visit from Fr. Marc and Deacon Peter. They blessed us with ashes on our forehead in the shape of a cross. It was Pancake Day today and we decided to make our own pancakes in school. We listened to a song to help us remember the ingredients we needed and what we had to do. We each helped to add the ingredients and mix them together. The best part was when we were given some pancakes to eat.  

Carrying on from Children’s Mental Health Week, we thought we would share this wonderful calendar to help promote a positive sense of well-being. Preparations are underway for the special World Book Day school dinner available on Thursday. Our lovely cook, Jan, has decorated the serving area to help us celebrate our love of reading. The children are looking forward to eating their special treats and admiring the excellent decorations.
