Music Lead Teacher in school is Mrs Noble
Music at St. Cuthbert’s aims to engage and inspire pupils to develop a love of music and their talent as musicians, increase their self-confidence, creativity and sense of achievement. This will enable each child to reach their full potential in music, encourage children to enjoy singing, composing and performing and provide children with the opportunity to perform in front of an audience both within and outside of school. We use the Charanga scheme of work to support our teaching and learning. Year 3 learn the violin as a whole class and children in Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 are given the opportunity to take instrumental lessons in violin or guitar.
Our school choir is an important part of music at St Cuthbert’s and they begin to learn to read musical notation, dynamics and how to sing in harmony/parts. They represent our school in the local community.
