Monday 27th April

Hi everyone – I hope you enjoyed your weekend and made the most of Saturday’s sunshine!

I have added your maths to the Google Classroom – please log in to check. You will have a link to follow either to White Rose or BBC and I have set a TTRockstars battle.

Please can you spend 30 minutes on reading plus OR on Lexia. We are going to start to learn some of the Just So Stories this week before writing our own. We’re really lucky that Adam has agreed to read one to us tomorrow! The Just So Stories were written by Rudyard Kipling – the man who write the Jungle Book. I have added a link to a website and video in the Google Classroom where you can find out more about him. Rudyard loved to tell bedtime stories to his children and he made up stories about how animals got certain features for example, how the Rhino got his baggy skin, how the camel got his hump and how the elephant got his trunk. His daughter loved the stories and she wanted her daddy to tell them the same way every night with lots of repetition so she could join in. She would say to him “Tell them ‘just-so’ daddy” which is where he got the name from. Today I would like you to watch the animation to help you understand some of the old fashioned language. Then you can have a go at reading it with or to someone. There is some tricky language in there. Can you find out what it means? I hope you enjoy it – I really love these stories. If you have a younger brother or sister, you might want to see if you can watch some CBeebies Tinga Tinga tales with them which are really similar.

Our RE topic at the moment should be Pentecost. There is some information for your parents here to go with the activities I’m sending you.  Remember to go on the energy hunt if you didn’t do it on Friday. The activity is in Google Classroom.
