We are aware that some of our children and families are self isolating at home and won’t have access to school reading scheme books. It is important for all of our children to continue with their reading. Now is the time for them to enjoy and read books they may have at home.
There is also a very useful website ran by the oxford reading programme which links to the book band scheme that we read in school.
Below are the instructions of how to register your child onto their site. Here you will find a selection of eBooks at the bookband level that your child is currently working at. If your child currently has a school reading book at home then their bookband is shown by the sticker which will be on the bottom of the book spine. If you are still unsure of your child’s coloured bookband then please contact your child’s teacher by email and they will get back to you asap.
- Click on ‘join us’ at the top of the page
- Fill in the details for you and your child following the instructions on the webpage.
- Once you are logged in, click on ‘Find a book’
- Next click on the bar that says ‘levels’
- In the dropdown box choose ‘bookbands’
- Then choose your child’s bookband colour.
- Finally, choose an eBook for your child to read.
