St. Cuthbert’s girls football team played in their first tournament tonight.
They came top in their group stage after winning all of their games, scoring 11 goals and keeping a clean sheet. In the final, they were very unlucky and lost 1 – 0. It was a very close match and could have gone either way. They all received a runners up medal and a trophy to display in school.
All of the girls played a vital part and worked fantastically as a team. They did themselves, parents and school proud. Their attitudes to the game were fantastic and they all had huge smiles on their faces during the whole tournament. It was brilliant to watch and we hope we can continue to grow and develop the team for future events.
