Computing at St. Cuthbert’s Overview

At St. Cuthbert’s we recognise and value the importance of computational thinking and creativity as vehicles to change our world and ensure our curriculum fosters meaningful links with communication, mathematics, science, DT, art and PSHE. Our computing curriculum covers Digital Citizenship (how to be safe and how to behave appropriately online), computing (how computers and computer systems work) and Digital Literacy (how we use programmes to present ideas and communicate).  Many of our children come to us already able to use touch screen technologies and interactive toys and through their time with us they learn to use a much wider and more purposeful variety of technologies to create work, to code programs and to use them all safely and consider

Computer programs and online tools are also used to support other areas of the curriculum e.g. Times Tables Rockstarz, Spelling Shed, Reading Plus, Purple Mash, maths.co.uk and spag.com.  You can find log in details in your child’s reading record and links to the pages on our Pupil Page
