St. Cuthbert's Catholic Primary School Seaham
Year 1 have had a fabulous day at Wharton Park. Our first activity was Let Spring Begin. The first task was to look around the park, identifying different trees using an identification key. We then made a flower using different natural materials. Our next task of the morning was to identify a plant by the seed or bulb. Finally we looked at various fruits from around the world and tried to place them in the correct part of the world.
After lunch, our activity was Map It Out. Rachael read a story about how maps can help us to locate places in our country and around the world. We used a compass to find out where North was and played the North, South, East or West game. Next we used a key to find different objects so we could make funny faces. Finally we made our own maps and keys using a range of natural materials.
