Today, to celebrate National Engineering Day, Year 5 had an exciting opportunity to participate in a STEM careers video meeting with three engineers, giving them a unique chance to learn about the various fields within engineering. During the meeting, the engineers shared insights into their careers, explaining the different types of engineering they specialise in, such as civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering. They discussed the skills needed for each field, the challenges they face, and the projects they work on. The students were able to ask questions and engage in interactive discussions, learning about how engineering impacts everyday life and how it contributes to solving global problems. The session helped inspire students to think about potential careers in STEM and sparked curiosity about the practical applications of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in the real world.
