St. Cuthbert's Primary School Seaham
Today marks the beginning of the seven days of Sukkot which is an important week in the Jewish calendar. All around the world, Jews remember the 40 years the Israelites spent in the desert after being freed from Egypt by Moses. During this time, they lived in tents made of palms so families and communities spend time in tents that have at least 3 sides and have roofs made of natural materials that are partly open to the elements. We wondered how well we could build a shelter (a sukkah) following these rules.
