Happy Wednesday!

I’d like you to do a Learning Log, allowing you to explore and present as you choose. As always you must include some writing but then you can be creative just like you always do with the Learning Log Work. (There’s more information in Google Classroom as well as a wordmat to help you. )

Do some colouring, wordsearch puzzles or code cracking- you’ll still be learning while having fun- hopefully! ( resources in Google Classroom)

For your maths today go to Bitesize Daily. You’re going back to addition and subtraction from a lesson last week, 29th April.

Efficient addition and subtraction methods

In this lesson, you will learn efficient methods for adding and subtracting from 4-digit numbers. Sometimes it makes more sense to solve some additions and subtractions using a mental method rather than column methods.

The lesson includes:

  • two videos
  • two activities

Follow this link for videos and the activities. They are from Power Maths that we use in school with lots of picture images to help you. Print if you prefer but writing the answers on paper will be fine. You can check your answers on this same page with your grown up  when you’ve completed them.

I would still encourage you to watch the Bitesize tv programmes for 7 -9 as it’s a good source of learning. Also  do some of the usual stuff – Reading Plus, Spelling Shed, your journal and some times tables work.
